Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara won’t be leaving the club to join Sevilla according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Spanish international has been linked to various sides so far this summer due to the fact he has one year left on his contract.

However he is focused on the new season with Liverpool and doesn’t see himself leaving.

He is a doubt for the start of the campaign though as he has not played any pre-season games due to an injury he suffered back in February.

Due to the sales of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho Thiago is the most experienced midfielder left in the Liverpool squad.

So in his last season at the club there will be a lot of importance on him to guide the young grip of players around him.

Due to this there is doubts that Liverpool will want to let him go and even if they do he doesn’t want to leave yet.

There has been offers from Saudi Arabia to Thiago and he has not accepted which further shows his commitment.

A move to another European team may have intrigued him more but he’s now back in training and wanting to get fully fit for the first few weeks of the campaign.

In an ideal world Thiago would get minutes in Liverpool’s last pre-season game against Darmstadt but that appears to have came too soon for him.

It is unlikely that Jurgen Klopp will throw him in against Chelsea so the second league game against Bournemouth could be when Thiago is back playing for Liverpool.
