Liverpool are preparing a third offer for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.

That’s according to the reliable Sacha Tavolieri who suggests that the offer will meet the Saints’ expectations in terms of the fee.

Southampton have stood their ground over recent days sticking to their valuation of £50million for the 19-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp is desperate for midfield reinforcements after Jordan Henderson and Fabinho departed for Saudi.

Whilst the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai will help to soften the blow of losing two of Liverpool’s most experienced players, further additions are still needed.

Belgian international Lavia appears to be top of the Anfield hierarchy’s wanted list but Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade has also been suggested as an alternative.

According to Tavolieri, the third offer for Lavia is expected to be £40million plus add-ons which he reports will meet the expectations of chiefs at St Mary’s.

The media personality also suggests that the deal is very much on with the player wanting to make the move and having informed Southampton of that fact.

The Transfer Room Verdict On Romeo Lavia

Liverpool need to bring in a specialist number six, sooner rather than later, and Lavia would be an exciting addition.

Whilst he may lack experience, he has huge potential and could grow to become a world-class player in the future.

Lavia seems the more sensible profile to be targetting to replace Fabinho with Andre Trindade’s characteristics moer in line with those of Thiago Alcantara.
