Liverpool are one of the clubs showing an interest in 17-year old winger Assan Ouedraogo from Schalke. The men from Merseyside are not alone in their interest, but they are tracking the player’s progress at the German club.

Jorg Schmadtke has favoured the German market since becoming the sporting director at Liverpool. This could be the next coup the former Borussia Monchengladbach man could perform at the club.

There is growing belief that Ouedraogo is the next big to come out of German football.

As reported by Florian Plettenburg, Liverpool are pursuing 17-year old Schalke winger Assan Ouedraogo. Bayern Munich are of course also mindful of the player.

No official bids from any side has been made as of yet. It’s a fluid situation, with a number of clubs taking intrigue in the German midfielder.

Ouedraogo has featured 9 times this season in the Bundesliga 2 for Schalke. He is the youngest player in the history of the club, and is also the youngest goal scorer too. The previous record was held by a certain Julian Draxler.

There is a €20million release clause for Ouedraogo for foreign clubs. Liverpool are one of the English clubs interested alongside Everton and of course, Brighton & Hove Albion.

It’s one to watch over the coming months. This won’t be the last time you hear the name Assan Ouedraogo.
