Liverpool has been somewhat stagnant in the transfer market since the early arrival of Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Macallister, with many fans growing increasingly worried at the lack of investment within the playing side considering the mass amount of departures.

Jurgen Klopp’s side could be set to strike again within the market, however not with a name that we would expect to see in the starting eleven in the immediate future. This is because Liverpool is reportedly in advanced talks for a 16-year-old wonderkid from the West Ham Academy.

As Football Insiders Pete O’Rourke reported, Liverpool is eyeing up the signing of Amara Nallo, a highly sought-after centre-half, the latest of the long production line hailing out of West Ham’s academy.

Nallo has only recently signed a scholarship deal with the Hammers, however, discussions for his future are reportedly ‘well underway’ between the two sides, with Liverpool hopeful of getting the signing over the line before the close of the summer window.

Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the interest in a tweet on July 31st saying ‘Understand Liverpool are in talks to sign new young talent for Academy — 2006 born centre back Amara Nallo from West Ham’

Nallo is a left-sided centre half which is something that Liverpool have been on the lookout for, however, he would not be able to sign professional terms with the side until November when he turns 17. He made a total of two appearances for the West Ham U18 side last season, with only 78 minutes total under his belt.

Improving the academy development appears high on Liverpool’s list this summer, with Harvey Owen already confirmed from Wolves, and Leicester’s Trey Nyoni reportedly close to joining the academy ranks too, it will be one to keep an eye on how the 3 new additions develop over the coming seasons.
