Sadio Mane has shared his thoughts on Jurgen Klopp’s impending departure from Liverpool, injecting a bit of humour by suggesting he’d like to bring his former manager on board at his new venture.

Mane, a revered figure among Reds fans, amassed an impressive record of 120 goals in 269 appearances and claimed every major honor during his six-year tenure under Klopp at Anfield.

Since leaving Liverpool for Bayern Munich in June 2022, the Senegalese striker has found himself plying his trade in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr.

Mane assumed the role of majority shareholder at Bourges Foot 18, a fourth-tier French club, last October.

During a recent visit to the club ahead of his international duties with Senegal, the 31-year-old took a moment to express his appreciation for Klopp as the German prepares to bid farewell to Anfield at the end of the season.

In a lighthearted gesture, Mane hinted at the possibility of bringing Klopp on board as the manager of Bourges Foot 18 someday, showcasing the enduring camaraderie between player and coach.

“He said he was leaving Liverpool? Maybe he will come here (laughs),” Mane said at a welcome ceremony in the city hall of Bourges, as quoted by Foot Mercato.

“He is someone who left his mark on world football, and personally, he contributed a lot to my progress.

“He is a great man, a living legend, who brought a lot, a lot to Liverpool. All the work he did there will, I think, be forever engraved in the memory of all the supporters.”

In January, Klopp confirmed his departure from Liverpool, revealing his decision to step down as manager at the end of the season after a remarkable nine-year tenure.

While speculation has swirled regarding potential opportunities with Bayern Munich and the Germany national team, Klopp has expressed his intention to take a well-deserved one-year sabbatical, at the very least, before entertaining any thoughts of returning to the managerial fold.
