Manchester United are unlikely to move for Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee this winter, with the move expected to come closer to the summer transfer window. United are awaiting the arrival of INEOS, which is pending approval from the Premier League. That process is expected to take 6-8 weeks, and Manchester United are tied in regards to what they can do within that period.

A striker remains a target for United, but it’s unlikely to be one of any significance in regards to price. A Wout Weghorst deal remains the most likely scenario for the Red’s, who are being watched by FFP regulations due to their transfer dealings in the last number of windows.

United Not Likelt To Move For Zirkzee:

Sources close to us here at the Transfer Room have relayed this information to us, suggesting a move in the summer window is the most likely situation regarding Zirkzee. The former Bayern Munich man has risen to prominence in recent months and is becoming one of the most highly-rated young forwards around.

It’s unfortunately expected to be a bridge too far for United in the January window, however. The club will do business in January contrary to beliefs suggesting otherwise, but any lump sums are likely to be put towards a center-back. Jean-Clair Todibo remains a target, and it would be quite an easy deal to do due to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ownership of OGC Nice.

Zirkzee unfortunately may have to wait, but he is a player United is interested in alongside Johan Bakayoko from PSV Eindhoven.
