PSV winger Johan Bakayoko has been linked to a move to Liverpool and he still has a chance leaving the Dutch club before deadline day according to often reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The attack is one of the areas that Liverpool are most calm about due to the array of options that they have there with Ben Doak, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez all competing for spots in the first team.

However they were linked with PSV’s Bakayoko when the Salah to Al-Ittihad rumours started circling as he is seen as a potential replacement for him in the future.

He has been linked with a few other clubs and even though there is only a few days until the transfer window is closed the left footed right winger may still get a move away.

Plenty of clubs interested in potential Salah replacement

It remains doubtful that Liverpool will make a move for the Belgium international but they may be keeping a close eye on his progress.

Premier League sides Burnley and Brentford have shown their interests so the Reds would be able to keep a close eye on him and see if he can cut it in England before they potentially made a move.

Serie A Champions Napoli are key to this as they are happy to let Hrving Lozano go back to his former club PSV, as they Napoli have just signed Jesper Lindstrom from Eintracht Frankfurt, meaning that the Dutch side would be able to allow Bakayoko leave.

Much could also depend on if Brentford get a deal over the line for Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson who is also a target for Ange Postecoglou at Spurs after they lost Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

Bradley Barcola and Nico Gonzalez of Lyon and Fiorentina respectively are also targets for Brentford which could leave Burnley to have free run at Bakayoko who is their priority target.
