Liverpool’s 23-man travelling squad for the Europa League round-of-16 first-leg match against Sparta Prague includes Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian forward has missed 12 of Liverpool’s last 13 matches due to a hamstring injury sustained while on duty for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Although he made a comeback in the game against Brentford last month, contributing with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 victory as a substitute, he unfortunately aggravated the injury, leading to another spell on the sidelines.

In the aftermath, Salah has been sidelined for Liverpool’s last four games, including the League Cup final triumph over Chelsea.

However, following his participation in open training on Wednesday, he has now been included in the traveling squad for Liverpool’s upcoming encounter with Sparta Prague.

The 31-year-old’s return comes at a crucial time, especially with the impending top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

While Salah’s availability strengthens Jurgen Klopp’s squad, complementing the returns of Dominik Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez, Wataru Endo, and Andy Robertson from their respective injuries and illnesses against Nottingham Forest last weekend, Liverpool are still grappling with the absence of several key players.

Youngster Jayden Danns has been excluded from the traveling squad due to a concussion, adding to the list of 11 players who will miss the upcoming trip due to various injuries. Among them is teenage left-back Calum Scanlon, who is sidelined with a minor foot fracture.

Liverpool travelling squad: Gomez, Endo, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Adrian, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Robertson, Clark, Gordon, McConnell, Kelleher, Koumas, Quansah, Bradley, Musialowski, Mrozek.
