The first never-ending international break of the season has finally finished so we can now gleefully look forward to more of intense club football which we seen in the first weeks of the campaign.

Liverpool have looked like they may be back to their old selves with three wins and a draw in their opening four league games with a new look midfield looking fresh compared to the last 12 months.

One thing throughout the summer that Jurgen Klopp did not have to worry about was bringing in any attacking reinforcements due to the quality he already had at his disposal and he has been proved right so far but he may have a selection headache when deciding on who his first choice front three should be.

So who should it be or should it even be a three?

In the first couple of league games Clop decided to go with a front three of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and of course Mo Salah on the right hand side.

Diaz suffered a serious injury last season but it seems to be behind him as he scored the first goal of Liverpool’s campaign and he also got the equaliser against Bournemouth in spectacular fashion.

He also started in the victories against Newcastle United and Aston Villa but he wasn’t on the scoresheet in either of those matches.

It appeared to be that Diaz would be the first choice on the left flank and the ever tantalising Salah on the right but as everyone will know a short cameo from a certain Darwin Nunez got everyone talking.

His breathtaking brace to get Liverpool three points after all seemed so lost was a thrill Liverpool supporters needed to feel to give them the message that the rebuild under Klopp can be special.

It was more than just the goals from Nunez it was the finishes, they were sublime, so should he be the one who is attempting to spearhead this Liverpool side back to the top of the table?

He got the nod to do that against Aston Villa and he caused havoc but there was signs of maybe some of the inconsistency with the missed chance which led to the own goal and his head off target in the second half.

The Uruguayan was a constant threat and like on other occasions linked up with Mo Salah well but is he the false nine that Klopp ideally wants or has the side evolved past?

As well as Jota Cody Gakpo has shown that he is ideal in the false nine role that Roberto Firming perfected for so many years.

Gakpo though hasn’t had an easy start to the campaign due to the fact he has been shoehorned into a midfield role he does not excel at but now his Dutch compatriot Ryan Gravenberch has been signed maybe we can see him back to excelling further forward.

Whoever is picked for the game against Wolves may not be the best indicator to what Klopp will want to do due to it being the first match after the international break.

A more dynamic three in the middle makes it easier for whoever is through the middle so due to the quality of options and the Europa League it would make sense that we see a lot of different combinations.

Right now it feels like Nunez still has a little bit more to do to fully gain Klopp’s trust to solidify his place as the starting frontman.

Salah as always should be a cert whilst Diaz seemed to be before he was sacrificed for the red card against Newcastle then taken off again against Villa.

Right now it is not easy to predict and unpredictable attacking firepower can never be a bad thing.
