With Liverpool currently occupying the 2nd spot on the Premier League table and Spurs at a respectable 4th, the anticipation for this showdown is palpable.

Jurgen Klopp’s side comes into the match with a commendable four consecutive league victories, most recently securing a convincing 3-1 win against West Ham last weekend.

On the other side of the pitch, Tottenham faced a thrilling 2-2 draw in the recent North London derby against Arsenal. In a pulsating encounter, Spurs twice rallied from behind to share the spoils with the Gunners.

In recent memory, Liverpool have held the upper hand in this fixture, completing a league double over Tottenham last season. As this campaign unfolds, they will be eager to replicate that success.

In this article, we turn to Ben, the host of The Anfield Talk, who provides valuable insights and in-depth analysis of Liverpool’s upcoming clash with Tottenham.

Liverpool once again came from behind to beat Leicester City 3-1 to progress to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. Which players impressed you the most?

Ben: I thought Endo was the best player on the pitch against Leicester. He was playing with confidence & worked his socks off for the whole game. Curtis Jones playing at right back too…to see him captain the side was something special, and I’m sure it meant a lot to him. It was a very mature performance.

Should Jurgen Klopp be concerned about his defence having kept only one clean this season?

Ben: Maybe, but as long as we are scoring goals at the other end it’s ok for now! Obviously, as the season progresses ideally we’d want to iron out those mistakes, and I’m sure that will happen.

The Reds travel to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to take on in-form Spurs on Saturday. What are their chances ahead of the game?

Ben: We have to go into the game with confidence. We are in amazing form & you can see something is starting to click. We must be confident of any kind of opponent right now, and Saturday is no different.

What will be your ideal starting XI to face Ange Postecoglou’s side?

Ben: Alisson, Robertson, Virgil, Konate, Alexander-Arnold (if fit), Mac Allister, Jones, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Nunez, Salah

Your prediction

Ben: 2-1 Liverpool
