Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now planning to restructure his bid to buy Manchester United, as the takeover saga rumbles on. The Glazer’s announced plans to possibly sell the club last November, but a year on there is now sign of an end.

Ratcliffe is among the favourites to win the takeover bid, along with a Qatari led group run by Sheikh Jassim. Sheikh Jassim is the more likely of the two to become the next owner of Manchester United.

The INEOS owner Ratcliffe is now looking to make changes in his bid to try and win the battle.

As reported by David Hellier of Bloomberg, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now planning to restructure his bid to buy Manchester United.

Ratcliffe is looking to address some concerns held on the terms of his bid. His plan is to change his bid in order to try and steal a march in the takeover battle.

Sheikh Jassim is yet to step away from the bid to buy the club and remains committed to winning the race. Ratcliffe is now working with his advisors.

INEOS and Ratcliffe are only interested in buying a majority stake in Manchester United. They are now interested in entertaining minority stakes. This is the same as Sheikh Jassim, who’s bid is for 100% of Manchester United.

The battle rages on, but Ratcliffe is trying to break the deadlock with this latest development.
