Liverpool are currently going through a rebuild after losing four significant players at the end of the 2022/23 with Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Roberto Firmino all not getting new deals.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szboboslai were signed but now with the prospect of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson leaving more midfielders will be needed.

However as well as this Liverpool are reportedly looking at signing a right-back for the new season with the view of potentially moving Trent Alexander-Arnold into midfield and not just as an inverted full-back.

There has been internal discussions about Alexander-Arnold’s position going into the new season but at the moment Connor Bradley who was on loan at Bolton last season is the back-up right-back.

An offensive player could also be on the radar for Liverpool after losing Firmino and due to the fact that there is no natural back-up to Mo Salah.

If Thiago Alcantara leaves they will move for yet another midfielder with Barcelona viewing Thiago as a cheap option for the new season so there is still a chance that he may depart.

A centre back is also still being viewed as a priority but the Reds are not getting anywhere with Chelsea for Levi Colwill.

They are focusing on getting Romeo Lavia to the club firstly though as there is a real desire to refresh the squad after a disappointing season last campaign.
