Raphael Varane is now injured for Manchester United and a report has revealed just how bad it is and how long he will be out.

The Red Devils are in an injury crisis of sorts in the last couple of weeks. They currently have at least three starting players out (Depending on new signing Rasmus Hojlund‘s status in the squad), with several of their backups also facing injuries.

Left-back is the position that has suffered the most, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia injured. Reports have even indicated that the club are looking to bring in a new name for the position on a short-term basis to cover, with Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella allegedly close to signing (You can read that story here).

The latest on the injury list seems to be Varane, who was subbed at half-time last weekend in the game at Old Trafford against Nottingham Forest. The team managed to pull back a 3-2 win in that game but not everything was positive, as the manager revealed the World Cup winner had some complaints about an injury.

At first, it looked as though he could be out for a while, but a report has stated that it is not as bad as the initial fears. Rather than the six weeks that some said he could miss, journalist Simon Stone from the BBC has tweeted that club sources indicate he will only be out for “A few”.

If that is to be believed, it could be that the 30-year-old makes his return as early as the clashes with Burnley or Crystal Palace in late September. In the meantime, they will at least have to face Arsenal and Brighton without him. Two games that should prove tough for The Red Devils.

Victor Lindelof looks like the one who will replace him in the starting lineup, with the Swede doing so in the game against Forest when fellow center back Harry Maguire was also on the bench.
