Liverpool have long been known for their ferocious front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. However, they are not getting any younger.

Many supporters were hoping that the summer window would see new attackers brought in especially after the departure of Xherdan Shaqiri.

Much to the disappointment of said supporters, Liverpool failed to bring in any attacking reinforcements.

Despite this, it has not stopped the club from showing interest in and sounding out potential transfers.

Michael Edwards and the rest of Liverpool FC’s transfer department reportedly had their eyes set on an attacker but the untimely sale of Xherdan Shaqiri and the inability to move on Divock Origi proved to be stopping blocks.

The Reds had expressed serious interest in bringing in now Leicester City striker Patson Daka from RB Salzburg.

As we all know, Liverpool FC are a sell-to-buy club and they failed to sell the necessary players.

Fabrizio Romano commented on how a potential transfer for Daka collapsed.

“If [Liverpool FC] sold Shaqiri or Origi in the first days of June, they had the chance to sign Patson Daka because they were interested in Patson Daka, but then it collapsed because of timings on Shaqiri, who was eventually sold to Lyon in August,” the transfer insider said.

Although one striker got away from Liverpool, they are not done searching in the market.

Reports from 90min state that Liverpool have held talks with super agent Mino Raiola over his client and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

The report states that Liverpool have held talks about Haaland with Raiola over the past 12 months.

Unfortunately, it seems that every big club across Europe is interested in bringing Haaland in to their side.

The report mentions a host of interested clubs including; Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

If Liverpool want to sign the Norwegian striker, they will surely have to break their club transfer record. If they choose to do so, Haaland would be worth every penny.
