Emile Heskey has declared that Jurgen Klopp was wrong to ask for the Tottenham game to be replayed, after Luis Diaz goal was ruled offside wrongly. Emile Heskey was speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League betting & odds.
Speaking on the Klopp situation, Heskey had this to say. “I don’t think the Tottenham game should be replayed. It’s over now, and before we had VAR, we’d just accept bad decisions and move on. What I would say, though, is that what happened against Tottenham was a communication error”.
“Liverpool Would Have Beaten Spurs”- Emile Heskey
Despite not thinking the game should be replayed, Heskey feels Liverpool would have won if the goal stood. “Liverpool are a very positive team and when their tails are up, they go for the kill. The goal was onside, and things like that take the wind out of your sails. I think Liverpool would’ve been deadly and finished Spurs off.”
Ryan Gravenberch has been breaking into the side in recent weeks, and looks to be close to nailing down a starting spot. Heskey feels Liverpool should give the Dutch midfielder more minutes in the side, with Endo sitting behind.
“I liked Ryan Gravenberch’s performance against Union Saint-Gilloise. He’s a really good driving midfielder who likes to take players on and makes a lot of runs forward. He’s really positive and has Endo sitting behind to cover him. I’d like to see more of Gravenberch.”
Gravenberch could feature for Liverpool the weekend against Brighton after his performance last night, and Heskey feels Liverpool will beat Brighton. Brighton are on a poor run of form, and the former Leicester man feels Liverpool will add insult to injury.
“I think Liverpool will beat Brighton 2-1. It’ll be a tough game as Brighton are a very good side at home. They’re fantastic movers of the ball and they have such a good understanding of their pressing triggers.”
